We are a family from Berne, Switzerland who moved to Nashville in July 2017. Ever since we have been trying to get familiar with the American way of living and even more with working off the list of things you have to do before you can officially call yourself a Nashvillian...

The Pfunky Griddle: flip your own pancakes

February 15, 2018

Too lazy to go to the store and buy all the ingredients to make breakfast at home? Not in the mood for cleaining up afterwards? Then The Pfunky Griddle is the perfect place for you. It does all the prep and clean up and leaves the fun stuff to you!

All you can eat

Who ever thinks that dining out with your kids is not as fun as it was before having kids should definitely visit this place. Our son hardly sits still for more than 10 minutes, however at The Pfunky Griddle there are tons of things that keep him busy.

Try to be there before 9 am in order to avoid long lines. Once you have been seated at your griddle you will be able to choose from a long list of Toppings (which Carl normally already eats up before the pancakes are ready to be decorated). Our all time favorites are Nutella, all kind of berries, chocolate chips, coconut flakes, pineapples and banana slices. Afterwards the waiter will bring you two pots, one with organic 5 Grain and one with unbleached white batter. And off you go with cooking your own pancakes.

Don't wear fresh clothes

The only downside of this place is the poor (or non existing?) ventilation. After you exit the restaurant everything you wear (including your hair) smells like a smoked sausage. So be aware to not wash your hair the same morning you plan to visit The Pfunky Griddle and to leave all you don't need (including coats, scarfs) in the car before you enter the place.
